“I first heard about Spires when I was living in a hostel. They helped me sort myself out bit by bit. Getting my own flat was the real breakthrough.” Jack, Spires Client
We’ve established our services over the course of our 30-year history, providing the vulnerable in the Streatham community with a safe space to access food and shelter. Spires works to help improve the wellbeing for those who are sleeping rough, so they can feel safe and supported. Based at our day centre in Streatham, this space is open to anyone rough sleeping in the south London community. We meet our clients' immediate needs by offering washing facilities, food, clothing, and emergency healthcare.
Not only do we offer the basics that they need, but we also actively work to encourage them to take control of their lives, so they themselves can gain confidence and build a life that they’ll be content with. By allowing them to access the right environment, we help guide them to bring about their own changes. We connect our service users to a wide range of services that we provide. These include street outreach referral, accommodation, housing advice, and employment and benefit advice. Through the advice and guidance we deliver, we aim to enable each person who comes to Spires to make a positive move away from a street-based lifestyle to one of more stability.
All of our rough sleeper sessions are supported by Spires’ specialist workers and specialist partner agencies. We connect people to a wide range of services including street outreach referral, accommodation and housing advice, and employment and benefit advice.
Warm breakfasts, drinks, food parcels, toiletries and clothing are always available.
Please note – no admission during the last 15 minutes of the session.
