Well done to all the staff, volunteers and clients - past and present for all of your hard work and also to all of the people, trusts and foundations that have supported us over the years and helped us to build such a fantastic project!
The annual awards are organized by London Councils and are sponsored by the London Housing Foundation and Shelter, and award innovative efforts to tackle homelessness in London in the spotlight.
Award judge and chair of London Housing Foundation, Don Wood, said: “Spires’ Streetlink particularly impressed us for the dedication of its staff and volunteers.” He commended Spires’ Streetlink looks at more than just homelessness and tackles many of its related issues as well.
Spires’ Streetlink runs centre-based and outreach sessions to help women with a whole range of issues, including homelessness, addiction, childhood abuse, violence, and sexual and mental health issues.
London Councils’ Executive member for housing, Mayor Sir Steve Bullock, said: “This year’s winner, Spires’ Streetlink, is a fantastic example of a project which works with some of the hardest to reach young women in our local community and helps them to get off the streets and into a safe, positive environment.”
