“Spires is an extremely pleasant place to work in and staff and people that use the facilities are very friendly. My whole experience has left me talking to people about how much I love volunteering here.”
If you are interested in volunteering at Spires you will need to arrange a time to come in and see our Volunteer Coordinator for an informal chat. During this chat you will be asked to fill in an application form with your details as well as the names of two referees (not family or friends) we can contact for a reference.
Your references will be taken up and you will then be asked to attend a one-hour induction session covering the policies and procedures of Spires. The session is also a good time for you to ask any questions you might have regarding volunteering at Spires.
All volunteers will also need to complete an online DBS Check. (Please note that having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from volunteering at Spires although if the conviction is of serious nature it may mean you will not be able to volunteer in a client-facing role).
