“Spires is an extremely pleasant place to work in and staff and people that use the facilities are very friendly. My whole experience has left me talking to people about how much I love volunteering here.”
Whether you choose to volunteer in our centre, run a marathon, cook a meal to serve to our clients or donate money, food or clothes there are many different ways you can support Spires and help some of South London’s most vulnerable people.
We rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses to ensure we can continue to provide vital services to vulnerable and homeless people and offer each of our clients a real chance to change their lives.
Spires is a lifeline for homeless and vulnerable people throughout the local community in South London. The money you raise through fundraising is vital in ensuring that our work can continue.
We are so lucky to receive wonderful support from many in our local community, churches, schools, business and groups and there are many different and fun ways that you too can fundraise for Spires. You might like to organise an event, run a marathon, hold a raffle or even fundraise at your office.
We are always happy to come and give talks if your group would like more information about our organisation and the work that we do.
Please rest assured your donation will be put to good use for vital work in the community.
Also, please do let us know if you are doing anything to raise money for Spires so that we can publicise your great work and feature it in our newsletter and on Facebook too!
If you are interested in volunteering at Spires you will need to arrange a time to come in and see our Volunteer Coordinator for an informal chat. During this chat you will be asked to fill in an application form with your details as well as the names of two references (not family or friends) we can contact.
Volunteers are needed during all of the various sessions at the centre; Rough Sleeper’s Space, Open Access Drop-in, Women’s Space, as well as assisting our tutors in our adult learning courses.
Particular roles are assigned on a daily basis, depending on what is required in the moment.
Spires Streetlink is a project that exists to help meet the complex health, social, psychological and emotional needs of vulnerable women involved in sex work through outreach work in Lambeth.
