About Our Women’s Service
Spires has a dedicated Women’s team, who engage with women at risk, addressing issues they’re facing regarding their health, safety and well-being. We want women to feel heard, included & feel part of a community and therefore have established a positive and welcoming environment where women of all diverse backgrounds can feel safe.
Our women’s space presents each woman that comes to Spires a ‘safe space’ where our female staff can offer a consistent and long-term approach to each woman’s needs. We support women who are struggling to cope with complex issues such as domestic violence, exploitation, drug and alcohol addiction. The women are usually vulnerable, experiencing homelessness or have insecure accommodation and have children to look after. Many also face issues like long-term unemployment, no recourse to public funds, and problems with poor mental & physical health due to the chaos they’ve experienced.
Similarly to our Housing & Homelessness sessions, our team will complete a holistic assessment of need and provide a care plan for each client based around the issues they’re experiencing. This plan will outline each client’s own goals for their health, safety and well-being, which could include any of the following; securing stable accommodation, offering emotional/mental support, reducing drug/alcohol intake and exiting sex work.
We welcome individuals of different ages, nationalities, religions & sexual orientation for whom we will offer our advice and support. They access a range of internal and external support services in a welcoming and inclusive environment where they can feel safe. *
